What Website Maintenance Means at Wild West Support
Wild West Support provides ongoing website maintenance, monitoring, and upkeep. Our role is to keep your website secure, updated, stable, and running smoothly — not to build new functionality, manage marketing systems, or operate third‑party tools on your behalf.
If you’re ever unsure whether something is included, this page defines what we do, do not, and can optionally assist with outside the scope of maintenance.
✅ What Is Included
Platform Support
- WordPress websites (primary platform)
- Shopify websites only for clients on a Shopify‑specific plan
- All WordPress plugins and themes, including WooCommerce, are supported for maintenance purposes (updates and compatibility)
Ongoing Maintenance & Monitoring
- WordPress core, theme, and plugin updates
- Daily backups (unless otherwise specified)
- Website uptime monitoring
- Security monitoring and malware detection
- Performance optimization (caching, speed improvements, general optimization)
- Broken link checks
Security & Issue Handling
- If a security or stability issue occurs:
- We will identify the cause
- Provide clear recommendations for next steps (for example: removing or replacing a plugin)
- If an issue is caused by a Wild West Support update or action, we will take all necessary steps to resolve it
- Malware cleanup is limited to diagnosis and recommendations, unless the issue was caused by us
Content Edits & Small Changes
- Unlimited small content edits per month
- One task per email at a time
- Requests are handled first‑come, first‑served
- Examples:
- Text changes
- Image swaps
- Minor layout adjustments
- Link updates
Testing & Staging
- Staging sites are used only when agreed upon in advance and when testing requires it
- Not included by default in all plans
⏱ Response Times & Support
- Response time: Within 24 business hours
- Typical turnaround: 48–72 business hours
- Emergency (SOS) support:
- One SOS request per year included
- Additional emergency work billed at $50/hour (minimum $100)
- Emergencies are defined as issues requiring immediate attention, such as site outages or critical failures
⚠️ What Is Not Included (Out of Scope)
Wild West Support does not provide the following as part of website maintenance:
❌ Integrations, Automations & Marketing Tools
- Building, configuring, or troubleshooting CRM integrations (e.g., ActiveCampaign)
- Creating or managing:
- Email automations
- Customer journeys
- Sales funnels
- Explaining how third‑party plugins connect to external services beyond basic documentation references
Example:
“How does this plugin connect to ActiveCampaign?”
“Can you give us a list of completed purchases or abandoned carts?”
These are implementation and operations tasks, not maintenance.
❌ Reporting, Analytics & Data Work
- Creating or exporting reports
- Pulling customer lists
- Generating abandoned cart data
- Reconciling sales, analytics, or marketing data
- Building dashboards (GA4, WooCommerce, CRM, etc.)
We do not manage, interpret, or guarantee the accuracy of third‑party data.
❌ Development & New Features
- Custom development
- New functionality
- Custom plugins or themes
- Major design changes or redesigns
- Feature requests or site architecture changes
❌ Marketing, SEO & Advertising
- SEO strategy or keyword research
- Content writing or copywriting
- Blog creation
- PPC, ads, or campaign management
- Email marketing execution
❌ Hosting, Email & Compliance
- Hosting management or email deliverability troubleshooting
- Server‑level configuration
- Legal or compliance guarantees (ADA, PCI, GDPR, etc.)
- Data recovery guarantees
- Third‑party vendor support responsibility
✅ What We Can Help With (Limited Guidance)
While we do not perform implementation or operations work, we can:
- Help identify where an issue likely originates
- Confirm whether a plugin or integration appears to be functioning
- Point you to:
- Plugin documentation
- Vendor support resources
- Best‑practice recommendations
- Advise when something falls outside maintenance and should be handled by:
- Your developer
- Your marketing team
- A third‑party specialist
💲 Out‑of‑Scope Work
- Out‑of‑scope requests are billed at $50 per hour
- Minimum charge: $100
- All out‑of‑scope work must be approved before work begins
- If you’re unsure, you may speak with your account manager to review the request first
